Davis Golf Carts- The Official Pit Vehicle of the IHRA
Davis Golf Cart Sales Named Official Pit Vehicle of IHRA

Drag Racing Ronnie "The King" Davis knows a little about what a driver needs when it comes to getting around the facility at a drag race. He should, he has been racing for over 30 years. Davis has been active in IHRA's Top Sportsman class since its inception, winning the World Championship three times (1990, 1991 and 1997) as well as owning the car Jeff Dobbins won the title in during the 1998 season. Davis also won division championships in 2000 and 2002 and finished second in his division last season.
Davis Golf Car Sales actually came from an idea he had after a girlfriend left him all alone in the staging lanes during a race.
"She was pulling the car with one of those heavy four-wheelers and was having some problems with it," Davis said. "She was yelling at me and I wasn't listening, so she ended up just leaving me there alone in the staging lanes. The next week I was hitting some golf balls with a buddy, and we were sitting on a golf cart. I thought it would be good to use in the pits so I talked to the owner of the golf course and bought it from him. I made some adjustments to it and took it to the track the next week. Everyone there asked me where I got it and I told them I made it. So I started selling them."
Davis now displays at races with his line of custom golf carts, as well as his line of motor homes and satellite television and communications services. In 2003 he sold the last of his gas stations, retiring from a business he spent over 25 successful years in, and went full time into the golf cart and satellite business. He is easy to spot in the midway with his 18-cart display. He still will race as well.
"I'm pleased to be the official pit vehicle of the IHRA because it will help bring Davis Custom Golf Carts more name recognition," Davis said. "I drag race for a living, but my top priority is to make that living. If it comes down to a choice between winning a race or building up my business I am going to choose what will help me make a living."
Along with his custom carts, you can see his line of pit bikes at his display. He also sells and installs In Motion Satellite Service at the track and will provide a full line of golf cart service.
